Few Ways to Increase Home Value

Are you thinking of selling your home anytime soon or are you in the real estate industry and need a few ways to increase value in the homes you sell?

This post will talk about 3 ways to increase value to a property.

1. Paint the Exterior

A new paint job would be the best way to help brighten up your home and increase value to help it be an easy sell. The first thing a potential buyer will see is the outside of a home, thus making the exterior a key element in making a home look the best possible.

With the possibility of having to use ladders due to height, this job would be best to have it be done by a painting contractor. Even though it may either be a low or high cost job depending on the repair work the home needs, it certainly will be worth the investment.

2. Freshen up the walls

One of the more easy and simple ways to increase value to a home is by freshening up a home's interior by painting the walls. Having a home with scratches, dirty paint or old wallpaper may cause a home to lose value. Having freshly painted walls may create quite the difference for potential home buyers when looking at a property.

Choosing colors as well play a role when it comes to painting walls. Remember, you're painting the walls to attract potential buyers and not for yourself liking. Pick colors that are simple, but that stand out when one sees them. Different colors work differently as some may make home space appear bigger and other may create a look that make walls seem shorter than they are.

3. Installing Crown Molding

Crown molding is wood strip that adds character to a home. Adding this is one of the best ways to give an extravagant look to a home's interior.

Crown molding ranges in terms of size and how much design you wish the molding strips to have. These strips can range from a 3" strip up to a 20" width strip. As well, crown molding may come non-painted or painted.

Installing crown molding does take a bit of woodworking to install. The best would be for you to hire a contractor to do this job for you.
